EnsembleIQ Executive Team Changes Will Reinforce the Company’s Strategic Focus

EnsembleIQ announced today that it has made major changes to its executive team. The appointments are intended to help the company bolster its information services offerings, expand and improve its robust portfolio of industry events, better deliver on its “content first” editorial directive and sharpen its focus on strategic mergers and acquisitions. Collectively, these changes will help EnsembleIQ strengthen its position as the leading provider of business-to-business information to retail markets throughout North America.

Some of the more prominent changes and additions in that regard include:

Korry Stagnito, who previously held the position of chief operating officer, has been appointed president of EnsembleIQ-Canada. Mr. Stagnito has also been named EnsembleIQ’s chief business development officer. In this role, he will spearhead all of the company’s M&A activities.

Most recently, Mr. Stagnito led the successful acquisition of Canadian Grocer, Pharmacy Practice+, Profession Santé, The Medical Post and other allied brandsfrom Canadian media and communications company Rogers Media. The acquired brands provide a strategic complement to EnsembleIQ’s U.S. media titles that include Progressive Grocer, Shopper Marketing, Retail Leader, Convenience Store News and The Gourmet Retailer, as well as Canadian brands such as Pharmacy Business, PharmacyU.ca and Your Convenience Manager.

Richard Rivera has been named the new chief operating officer & president of information services. In that capacity, Mr. Rivera will be responsible for EnsembleIQ’s production, IT and events departments, as well as its Information Services division, which encompasses research and database services.

Mr. Rivera brings a wealth of relevant experience to the role. Most recently he served as president & chief operating officer at Innovation Enterprise, a leading global, multichannel information provider and marketing services platform. Prior to that, he was SVP, chief content & product officer at CFO Publishing. Overall and throughout his 25-year career, Mr. Rivera has record of success in developing and managing growth-oriented, global businesses by drawing on his rich understanding of all facets of business operations, including sales, marketing, product development and technology.

Maureen Macke has been named senior vice president, events and conferences. This newly established position signals EnsembleIQ’s commitment to making its events grow and improve across the wide range of retail markets it serves. By using a “content first” strategy, and by improving logistical and operational functions, the EnsembleIQ goal is to increase attendee value while improving operational efficiencies.

For over 13 years Ms. Macke has served as managing director of marketing & events at the Path to Purchase Institute (a subsidiary of EnsembleIQ). In that role, she led a team responsible for member service and communication, event programming, marketing and logistics. Prior to joining the Path to Purchase Institute, Ms. Macke served as SVP for over 14 years at the Retail Advertising and Marketing Association/NRF.

In related news, Richard Zelvin has been named associate publisher of Shopper Marketing magazine, an EnsembleIQ publication that serves as the authoritative source for brand marketers and retailers tasked with understanding shopper marketing best practices along the path to purchase. Formerly Director, Market Development & Sales, Mr. Zelvin earned the change in title as a result of his success in expanding the magazine’s advertiser base and dramatically improving its financial performance over the past year.
